"Observe thoroughly rather than labour thoughtlessly"

From the smallest error message in the depths of an application, to the logo at the top of the page, every detail combines to create a user experience. And yet it can be a challenge to hold all of these challenges and subject matters in mind simultaneously.

As a user experience designer, I bring together multiple disciplines in order to consciously impact the entirety of a user's experience with a brand or organization or environment. The result is a highly customized solution with the user at the center.

I use a variety of practical disciplines, depending on the needs of the project. The specifics might include user interface design, solutions modeling, content strategy, or visual design to name a few.
Sample projects

User interface design and solution mapping for the startup launch of Starfish student retention software.

User observation and user paths mapping for an antivirus software company sales funnel.

Personal "vegan mom blog" project visual design, code on the wordpress platform and copy writing.

User interface design and solution mapping for various AOL projects including the Study Buddy service and the Tarana release of the main client.

An ongoing engagement with the American Council on Education providing content strategy, information architecture and visual design in context.
